One of my boys clenched a worn yellow piece of paper in his fist with all the Articles of Faith printed on it.
Their Activity Days leaders were preparing them for an upcoming activity, and they challenged the boys to memorize all thirteen Articles of Faith.
As a parent, I love when leaders reinforce the teachings we try to make a regular part of our home.
These sweet leaders always have a special way of making it fun for them.
So, to help you do the same, you’ll find 13 free Articles of Faith printable flashcards and posters you can use in your own home or church classroom.

We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
“We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.”
“We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.”
“We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
“We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.”
“We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.”
“We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.”
“We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.”
“We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.”
“We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.”
“We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.”
“We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.”
“We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.”
The Articles of Faith are a statement of basic beliefs and doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
They were written by Joseph Smith, Jr. while he was living in Nauvoo, Illinois in 1842.
There are 13 Articles of Faith, each addressing different aspects of the LDS church’s beliefs and practices.
They cover topics such as the nature of God, Jesus Christ, the Atonement, faith and works, salvation, and the role of prophets in revealing God’s will.
one is titled "4th article of faith" and the right one is titled "3rd article of faith," each displaying religious text excerpts." width="700" height="700" />
Joseph wrote a letter outlining the basic beliefs and doctrines of the LDS church to John Wentworth, the editor of the Chicago Democrat.
Joseph saw this as an opportunity to clarify some of the misconceptions and criticisms that were being directed towards the church at that time.
He wanted to create a brief summary of the core principles that set the LDS church apart from other Christian denominations.
In addition, Joseph believed that the Articles of Faith could serve as a tool for missionaries to use when explaining their beliefs to those unfamiliar with the church.
You can use the 13 Articles of Faith as a guide for daily living and decision-making.
They reinforce the basic foundational teachings of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and can serve as a reminder to strive for righteousness, love God and our fellowmen, and seek after truth.
The Articles of Faith can also help strengthen your understanding and testimony of the gospel as you study them individually or discuss them with others or as a family.
They provide a framework for developing a personal relationship with God and living according to His will.
You can hang the Article of Faith posters in your home or gift the flashcards to a friend.
Grab your personal copy and let them serve as a daily reminder to lead a Christ-centered life.
